Working to make Milwaukee a Region of Choice for diverse talent

The Region of Choice (ROC) collective of more than 125 metro Milwaukee companies is working to reduce racial disparities by recruiting, retaining and advancing Black and Brown talent. By 2023, our goal is to increase representation of Black and Brown talent by 15% and management talent by 25%. We are on track to meet or exceed those goals. DEI professionals, HR leaders and executives can access resources here to improve their practices and elevate their strategies. Connect with your peers and share strategies so together we can make Milwaukee a Region of Choice.

But research shows that such training programs don’t lead to meaningful change. What’s necessary, say the authors, is a metrics-based approach that can identify problems, establish baselines, and measure progress.
